Hi, I’m Julia.
Julia Hoge, Ed. S, NCC, LPC-MHSP
Julia believes in the counseling process—the space it opens within us and the gentle shifts it can bring to our life’s journey. With a warm, grounded presence, she helps clients of all ages connect more deeply with themselves and those they love.
Whether working with children, teens, or adults, Julia draws on each client’s strengths while integrating attachment-based and trauma-informed approaches to foster healing and growth. She weaves together Brainspotting (Level 1), EMDR, and the TraumaPlay™ Model, alongside play and art therapy and practical cognitive strategies. Her style is relational and experiential—rooted in compassion, curiosity, and a belief that small, steady insights can lead to lasting change.
Julia also works with parents and caregivers, helping them grow in consciousness as caregivers and nurture secure attachment within their homes. Through reflective parenting sessions, she supports families in understanding emotional patterns, fostering connection, and creating environments where everyone can thrive.
Before entering private practice, Julia spent over ten years as a school counselor, earning the ASCA RAMP Award twice, recognized as one of Nashville’s Emerging Leaders for her contributions to youth mental health and education in 2019 and being named Teacher of the Year in 2018. Alongside co-founding the Village Well, Julia now serves as an adjunct professor at Vanderbilt University, where she trains and mentors graduate students preparing to become school counselors and clinical mental health counselors.
Beyond the therapy room, Julia consults with schools to build trauma-sensitive practices and serves as an adjunct professor at Vanderbilt University, where she helps shape the next generation of counselors. She is an ally and advocate for diverse and LGBTQIA+ communities and welcomes clients into an open, affirming space.
